Day4

Back Home Next

On Monday we all went to the monastery of St. Naum. Before that all participants had the chance to be a part of a guided tour through the city of Ohrid, the church of St. Kliment, and the ancient gate that stopped intruders from coming into the city a long time ago.

The monastery is situated on the coast of the Ohrid Lake near the border with Albania. We went there by boat, and we had a lot of fun on the way to the monastery. When we got to St. Naum we were all amazed by its beauty. Some parts of it were built back in the 10th century. We felt as if we could see back through the time, and when the guide took us to St. Naum’s sarcophagus and told us that it’s said true believers can hear his heart still beating, we all trembled. It was something most of us will never forget.
