Important events
 

In Macedonia project activities began right after Work Plan and Time Frame was developed. All preparation activities were completed while work plan was developed.

Close cooperation was established with the National Employment Agency and its Employment centres in cities Skopje and Bitola. Also, good cooperation was established with:

  • Centres for Social Welfare and Social Security in Skopje and Bitola

  • NGO community in Bitola and Skopje

  • Local authorities in Bitola and Skopje

Project activities were and are running as planned.

Working together with stakeholders youth trainers from the pool of disadvantaged youth were identified and also several groups of disadvantaged were formed. Groups were composed from diverse scope of disadvantaged youth - youth from rural areas, displaced youth, youth with long-time no-first employment, orphans. Youth that was participating in this training was/is suffering social exclusion and/or poverty and can not afford self-development activities.

In Bulgaria the main tasks were fulfilled during the second quarter of this year-during the months April, May and June. The priorities were aimed at unemployed youths, youths without parents and in a difficult social position, as well as there was one group of 10 youths, graduating from secondary school from each of the three orphanages in Plovdiv, Varna and Sofia.

The coordinating role of our Foundation “Education, science and culture” was realized over the joint work with the Employment Agency, the job-centres in Sofia City, as well as with the functional departments in the Ministry of education and the Ministry of youth and sport. In this connection, yet in the beginning of April was set up a coordinating body, an executive coordination council and an expert management of outlined activities.

The thematic priorities were aimed at this category young people, who did not have a financial opportunity up to now to contact with computer equipment and who neither possess the skill to work with it nor the conditions to use its capacities for information and social adaptation. That’s why, as especially important fields of work were outlined the following areas-primary computer literacy with view to be utilized the Internet opportunities for job-finding, enriching the forms of socialization and communication, looking for new opportunities for self-education and increasing of own qualifications.   

The project found the support of municipal structures in Plovdiv, Vidin, Sofia, as well as among experts from the central departments and especially from the participants in conducted courses and seminars.

In Serbia after detailed working plan and time scope for realiza­ti­on of the project was developed, support of Serbian National Agency for Employment was gained, as well as access to the database of unem­ployment.

After master trainers for ToT were chosen, they went through training delivered by se­lected trainer candida­tes from Belgrade.

- Young people with university diploma and no first employment
- Long time unemployed young people

Students from last years of high schools who will be unemployed in the near future
- Young people facing poverty
- Young people from lower social status families – using social welfare funds
